For several years, McDonald`s has offered the choice of "boy" toys (trucks/cars, science, hiking, use of dark colors) or "girl" toys (dolls, dance, more dolls, use of bright colors/pink, etc.).
The Issue:
When a customer orders a Happy Meal, McDonalds` employees specifically ask children and their parents if they would like a "boy" toy or a "girl" toy. This teaches children at even preschool ages that the activities of the other gender are not appropriate for them.
